What is the built-in online product designer?
The built-in designer is the part of a W2P Solution store where your customers personalise a product before they order it. It is part of the platform, not a plug-in to buy or connect separately. W2P Solution is a white-label web-to-print store platform in three editions, Retail, B2B Procurement and Marketplace, and the designer is on the feature list of every one of them.
How does a buyer use it?
The buyer opens the designer from a product page in your store. From there they either upload their own artwork or edit a template, then continue to the cart. The design is saved with the cart line, together with its version, so the order does not depend on the buyer sending a file by email afterwards.
The price shown to the buyer comes from the store's pricing rules, so a change of size, quantity or option is reflected in the total; the print price calculator page explains that side. The designer and the price work as one flow rather than as two separate tools.
What happens to the design after payment?
On payment, the order carries the saved design into production and a print-ready PDF is produced for it. The order then moves through the production queue with a visible status. The print order workflow describes that path from cart to finished job in full, so this page does not repeat it.
Does the designer carry my brand?
Yes. W2P Solution is white-label: the designer your customers see carries your store's identity, alongside the storefront and the emails, not Netbase's. A customer personalising a business card is inside your shop from the first click to the last.
Which products can it handle?
The first release of W2P Solution supports flat print products such as cards, flyers and posters. Further product types are planned and are not part of the current plans, so treat flat print as the scope today. If your range is mostly flat print, the built-in designer is the straightforward route. If you need a product-specific editor, for example for apparel, a photobook or 3D packaging, that is custom engineering rather than part of a plan; the print product configurator service describes how that is scoped and built.
Who sets it up?
The Netbase team sets up every W2P Solution store, including the products your customers will personalise, and hands the store over within 7 business days. Subscribers do not set up the store through a wizard. Retail explains the setup batches and what the plan includes.
How does the built-in designer compare with a commissioned configurator?
The two options solve different problems. The comparison below uses only what each approach is defined to cover.
| Aspect | Built-in designer (W2P Solution) | Commissioned configurator |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A feature of every edition, shared by all subscribers | A custom build scoped around one product |
| Product scope | Flat print products such as cards, flyers and posters in the first release | Product-specific, for example apparel, photobook or 3D packaging |
| Branding | Carries your store's brand (white-label) | Designed to your specification |
| How you get it | Included once the Netbase team has set up your store | Scoped, quoted and engineered as a project |
| Best fit | Sellers whose range is flat print and who want it running soon | Sellers whose product needs its own editor |
A seller can start with the built-in designer for its flat print range and bring a project brief later if a product needs more.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pay extra for the designer?
No. The built-in online designer is on the feature list of every W2P Solution edition, so it is part of the plan rather than a separate add-on.
Can customers upload their own artwork?
Yes. A buyer can upload artwork or edit a template from the product in your store, and the design is saved with the cart line.
Will it work for T-shirts, photobooks or packaging?
Not in the first release, which supports flat print products such as cards, flyers and posters. Product-specific editors are custom engineering, described on the print product configurator page.
Does the designer show Netbase branding to my customers?
No. W2P Solution is white-label, so the designer carries your store's brand.
Can I see it before I decide?
Yes. Book a guided demo through the demo page, or send a project brief describing your products.
