Who is FrancEtiquettes and what market does it serve?

FrancEtiquettes is a French seller of self-adhesive labels. Its store, francetiquettes.com, is written in French, prices in euros and tells buyers to choose blank or printed labels with its own online creation tool. A read-only check on 2026-10-12 found A4 and A5 sheets, round and oval labels from a few millimetres up to a large oval, in matte and gloss polyester, glossy paper, kraft, cream laid paper, fluorescent stock and a repositionable adhesive. The catalogue is also browsable by adhesive strength - removable, permanent or reinforced - cutting across shape and material, and a 120x180 mm shipping label sheet with a detachable dispatch slip is sold for Colissimo, Chronopost and Kiala.

Each product page prices by format and size, then offers a quantity split between a small run of printed sheets and a larger box of blank sheets. Artwork reaches a printed order through the store's own browser-based online designer or an uploaded print-ready file; a buyer ordering blank sheets skips artwork and prints them elsewhere.

The businesses named in these case studies are Netbase JSC clients; the web-to-print work described was delivered or designed by Netbase JSC, which operates Web2Print Solutions. Names, links and screenshots are shown with the operator's authorization and removed on request.

How big is France's label and adhesive-paper print niche?

France counted about 16,000 printing businesses employing 38,000 full-time-equivalent staff in 2023, according to INSEE's "Les entreprises de l'imprimerie depuis 2010 : la production recule, les usages se modifient", published in July 2026. The same publication puts commercial printed matter - posters, catalogues and labels together - at 45% of the sector's production value, while the overall volume of printed products fell by about 30% between 2010 and 2023.

Inside that shrinking volume, INSEE singles out one exception: adhesive papers are the only printed-product category running a trade surplus, a surplus that grew over the period. A store built around adhesive labels sells into the one printed-product category where INSEE shows exports ahead of imports.

What business problem does a self-adhesive label store like this have to solve?

A label buyer is rarely ordering one thing. Someone bottling a small batch of jam needs a few sheets printed to their own design; someone running a mail-order shop needs blank sheets to feed through their own printer every week; someone else just needs a shape and size their printer can handle, in a material that survives a fridge or direct sun. A catalogue serving all three must let shape, material and adhesive strength be chosen independently, not bundled into one fixed product.

The second constraint is artwork. A buyer with a finished design needs to upload it and move on; a buyer with no design software needs a tool that reaches a finished layout without leaving the product page; and a buyer who only wants blank stock needs to skip a design step altogether, since forcing one on every order would stall the cart.

The third constraint is the French checkout itself: French-language copy, and euro prices shown including VAT (TTC).

What decisions and trade-offs shaped the project?

The records name work only through milestone titles and dates, so this section lists what the records show and states no reasons for it.

  • Catalogue setup, the online designer and print-ready PDF output were added in one early-2024 stretch

The three milestones were opened between 31 January and 22 February 2024 and all closed on 22 February 2024.

  • A PHP and server-runtime migration ran mid-project, not before launch

The milestone is dated 14 June 2024 and closed 31 July 2024, after the catalogue, designer and PDF-output milestones had closed.

  • The online designer and print-ready PDF output were both returned to repeatedly through 2025

Fix and set-up tasks touch the designer across three quarters of 2025, and PDF output carries a 2024 set-up task and an incomplete 2025 fix.

What are the three ways to add a design to a label order?

A FrancEtiquettes product page, checked on 2026-10-12, lets a buyer pick a label's material, finish, shape, size and format, then choose one of three ways to add a design.

  1. Open the online designer The product page embeds the store's own online designer, so a buyer can build a design in the browser without opening separate software.
  2. Upload a print-ready file A dropzone upload control on the same page accepts a print-ready file a buyer has already built.
  3. Order a box of blank sheets The same product's quantity choice offers a box of blank sheets instead of printed sheets, for a buyer printing the sheets at home.

Whichever route a buyer takes, the product page's format and quantity options set shape, size and sheet count before checkout; production after that is FrancEtiquettes' own.

  • Product options

Material and finish (matte or gloss polyester, paper, kraft, cream laid, fluorescent, repositionable), shape (A4, A5, round, oval), and adhesive strength

  • Price inputs

Product, format and size, and a quantity choice between a printed-sheet run and a box of blank sheets

  • Artwork rules

A browser-based online designer, or an uploaded print-ready file, feeding the same print queue

  • File output

A printed sheet run, or a box of blank sheets shipped with no artwork step

  • Integrations

A WooCommerce catalogue and checkout, an embedded designer, and a file-upload control

The records name no specific defects beyond their own titles, so the parts that were fixed more than once are the online designer and print-ready PDF output. A designer or upload path that does not carry the chosen shape, size and format through to the output file is a risk this catalogue runs on every order.

Netbase JSC maintains reusable web-to-print components - a browser-based online designer, rule-based print pricing templates, print-ready PDF output with CMYK conversion, bleed and trim, storefront connectors for WooCommerce, Shopify, Wix and custom stores, and a photobook and multi-page layout editor - which an engagement may reuse under their own licence terms. The catalogue, pricing, production and customer relationships belong to FrancEtiquettes.

Nine administrative records are left out; this timeline lists only the thirty-four project-specific tasks and sixteen milestones that remain.

What does this record show, and what does it not?

It shows a French store selling blank and custom-printed self-adhesive labels across multiple shapes, materials and adhesive strengths, with an online designer and an upload route for artwork, and dated work from January 2024 to May 2026 across sixteen milestones.

It does not show order volume, conversion or any revenue figure; none is measured to a published method and none is claimed. Two 2025 tasks, on print-production features and print-ready PDF output, are logged as incomplete, and one 2025 task title is withheld for identifying or sensitive detail. Netbase JSC's own project index still lists the engagement as in progress. Web2Print Solutions is the web-to-print engineering service of Netbase JSC. Delivery records cited on this site belong to Netbase JSC; where no delivered example of a capability is published, the page says so rather than implying a record.

What should a print business in this niche take from it?

  • Let shape, material and adhesive strength be chosen independently

A catalogue spanning round, oval and sheet labels in several materials needs browsable categories for each, not one product form covering all three.

  • Serve the DIY buyer and the print-for-me buyer from the same catalogue

A blank-sheet option next to a printed-sheet option lets one product page serve both a buyer with their own printer and one who wants the store to print it.

  • Offer a designer and an upload route together

A buyer without design software needs the browser tool; a buyer with a finished file needs to skip straight to upload.

How could a similar project start?

If you sell self-adhesive labels or a mix of blank and printed stock, send a project brief listing your label shapes and materials, whether buyers already choose between blank and printed, and how artwork reaches you today. Dieline, substrate and roll-specification questions for a wider label catalogue are covered on web-to-print for packaging and label converters, and cut-path logic for stickers sits on sticker and label die-cut ordering. The designer and output pipeline above falls under print product configurator engineering. A related record in the same country is the BoxProtec case study in France; every case study is indexed on the evidence hub.
